Ping’s Meridian Therapy is Dr. Lu’s own unique techniques.
In traditional Chinese medicine, good health depends upon two things: an unobstructed flow of energy, or Qi, through the body along 12 major channels, called “meridians”, and a balance between the two life forces—-Yin (a cool, inside & passive vital energy) and Yang (for a warm, outside & active vital energy). Illness or pain occurs when the flow of Qi is blocked or when one life force dominates the other; one analogy would be a traffic jam of energy inside the body.
Before acupuncture, we perform Ping’s meridian therapy which includes two techniques: Ping’s meridian massage and acupressure. Pressure along the meridians or on the specific points (acupoints) clears up the body’s traffic jam and makes Qi (energy and blood) flow like a river, therefore, re-balancing the movement of energy between the two life forces, Yin and Yang, in the body.
Acupuncture acts directly on the meridians. The hair-thin needles are inserted into the skin at specific points along the meridians to redirect or unblock stagnant Qi. While acupuncture focuses on deep, specific acupoints, Ping’s meridian massage reaches a much wider surface area, allowing blood and energy to flow more effectively. When both techniques are used together, the results are even more effective.
